If you are thinking about joining us on the Big Island below are some of the most frequently asked questions we get from guests. I hope it helps!

Can we check in early?

If you get in touch with us with as much time as you can we can make sure housekeeping has your place ready for you. Within a reasonable amount of time there’s no charge but that is on a time basis. We just need as much notice as possible to make this work if there are no other reservations. 

Do you have baby equipment (like high chairs etc.) in your places?

We do not but we do work with and recommend a local company that has been in business in Kona for Years: Aloha Kona Kids!

Do we need a car rental?

I would say yes. Now if you just want to stay in the downtown Kona area it’s possible with public transportation and there is a trolley but if you think that you may want to wander further a rental is needed. It also makes going and coming from the airport easier.

Do you provide toiletries?

We do provide single-use cruelty free sundries like soap and shampoo.

Is there Wi-Fi?

All of our places do have wi-fi. Passwords are provided on site and in the emailed check-in instructions.

This lovely 2 bed and 2 bath is just steps from Kahalu’u Beach Park which has world famous snorkeling and surfing. We’re also located near several shops (only 15 minutes from Kailua Village!) including bike and gear rentals for your convenience so all in all it’s just a great place for a beach goer!

There is a lot to see at Kahalu’u and a lot of incredible wildlife so if you want more information and tips on how to be mindful and safe while exploring check out this article.

Even better if you want to stay in- Kona Bay Villas 202 has AC and great breezes. A fresh island interior design, expansive living room with a comfortable sleep sofa and a full kitchen.

You can also enjoy great features at the complex itself including a swimming pool and lounge and a BBQ area with its own ocean view dining spot. Bu location is everything and the real magic of Kona Riviera Villa itself is in a great location. Highly walkable, if you wish to stay close, but provides a lovely scenic drive should you want one. It’s right across the street from Ali’i Market and nearby to other restaurants and groceries so all your needs are easy to meet.

IRONMAN 2025 is Right Around the Corner!

Aloha everyone! With the end of summer upon us that means IronMan 2025 is right around the corner! This year Kona is playing host to the Women’s World Championship Event. The race is slated for October 11th, 2025. If you aren’t aware IronMan is the world famous 140.6 mile triathlon that plays host to some of the top competitors in the world. They swim, they bike, they run and we can all watch content from the sidelines cheering them on.

All competitors have pre-qualified through a series of races held throughout the world all year. These are the best of the best!

Plus it’s just a fun event to experience on the Big Island! Whether you’re a competitor or a spectator we have some great accommodations available for all and great proximity to the event course. FAQ #1: The In’s & Outs of Private Vacation Rentals in Kona

  1. What is an OTA?

OTA’s are on-line travel agencies that take bookings. Airbnb and TripAdvisor are examples of OTA’s.

    2. What’s the difference between using an OTA versus Direct Bookings?

While there are positives to the OTA’s such as filtering and deeper review histories it does add a third party to the mix. Meaning extra fees go to the OTA and, in most cases, extra layers of communication between you and the property management or owner.

    3. Do I really need Travel Insurance?

It’s not required. But it is heavily recommended. If we’ve learned anything from COVID times it’s important to have that extra protection when anything could happen.

   4.Do you Offer any Discounts?

We do often run discounts. We also offer special rates to military and first responders and their families. Anything else could be considered on a case by case basis. Please contact us directly at 808-650-2314!

  5. What is the Rental Agreement and Do I Need to Sign it?

The rental agreement is acknowledgement of your reservation. Like any hotel a vacation property has rules and codes of conduct that we expect you to comply with- hence the agreement puts the details in writing for everyone to be protected. Not too mention many of the places in Kona have HOA’s with rules for the complex that could lead to fines if not followed.

It protects everyone to know that you’ve seen and acknowledged everything.  In our case you do need to sign the agreement to receive your check-in instructions.
