Any time is a good time to be on the Kona Coast! Kailua-Kona has a unique microclimate for Hawai’i, because it is positioned sheltered by (lee side) three major volcanic mountains (Hualalai, Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa). This means Kona’s dry season is generally from November through March, while the rainy season runs from April through October. However, there is not much difference between the two, especially in Kailua-Kona. Kailua-Kona has warm weather throughout the year. The high temperatures range between 80 – 85 degrees Fahrenheit, and lows are around 70, with very little seasonal fluctuation.
